Make a donation to a coral transplant project
Hi, this is Uminchu.
How are you doing??
Recently, I've been creating various things with blender, a software program that allows the creation of 3D art.
For example, a juvenile southern reef fish.
Now that I can make a lot of things, I also made coral.
This time I pleased to announce that I will be making a donation to a coral transplant project.

Reasons for donating to coral transplant projects
In 2016, the corals around Ishigaki island (Sekisei Lagoon) beached all at once.
The corals in the area where ae usually play, became whiter day by day.
Finally, the surface was covered with algae.
When this happens, the zooxanthellae can no longer enter the coral.
The coral then became a mere rubble...
After that, I left Ishigaki island and move to the Okinawa main island.
I was astonished when I entered the sea of Cape Maeda.
Because in the five years I had been away from the main island, the coral and fish had diminished.
The once colorful coral had become nothing ore than rock.
It was sad to see the mass of what used to be coral that had turned into rock.
Time passed further, and I moved to Nara Prefecture (here is on ocean), so I could no longer easily go to the ocean.
Even though I miss the ocean of Okinawa, I cannot go there.
Now that I am not there, I want to help the organizations that are truly working there.
All profits from the coral NFT will be donated to this seedings.
Decided where to donate.
Let's make a 3DCG coral! I decided.
If I'm going to donate to a coral transplantation project, I should look for an organization that is doing good work and is likely to continue in the future!
So I read through the websites of several organization.
I decided to go with one of the organization.
Why did I decided on Aqua Planet, a non-profit organization?
- To be able to participate in the program for 3,500 JPY per coral seedlings.
- The program has been active for more than 15 years
- The number of individual donors in 2021 has increased tremendously.
- We can easily confirm that they are registered as a non-profit organization.
- Must be active on the main island of Okinawa and Ishigaki island
NFT of coral seedlings
Listed 100 NFTs of coral seedlings in the OpenSea.
0.002ETH (Polygon chain) per piece.
If all of them are sold, it will be 0.2ETH (Polygon chain).
That is about 70,000 JPY.
After fee and other changes are deducted, I plan t transplant 10 ~ 13 coral seedlings and have them grow.
